Choose paper weight and bag dimensions together
For custom printed kraft paper bags, the paper weight in gsm is one part of the specification. Bag dimensions, gusset, handle attachment and base reinforcement also affect how the finished bag performs. Measure the contents and consider the filled weight before choosing a paper carrier.
Brown kraft paper creates a different background for ink from white paper. The same artwork can therefore look different on the two surfaces. Plain brown kraft paper bags and printed versions should both be reviewed for the intended use rather than selected from colour alone.

Twisted paper handles, flat paper handles and cord handles have different appearance and attachment details. Compare a finished sample with the contents inside. A handle style by itself is not a tested load rating.
Prepare artwork at the intended print size
- Supply the original vector logo where possible; outline text or agree how fonts will be provided.
- Use high-resolution source artwork for photographs or gradients, at the intended print dimensions.
- Identify print sides, important brand colours and any specific finishing requirement.
- Allow for gussets, folds, handle areas and the base when reviewing placement.
- Check a proof and, where needed, a physical sample on the selected paper.
Custom printed kraft paper bags may carry store branding, event graphics or a floral pattern. Review food use and overseas requirements
A paper bag carrying a wrapped meal is not necessarily specified in the same way as packaging that directly touches food. Confirm the actual paper, inks, finish and destination requirements. Do not assume that every kraft bag is food-safe, biodegradable or recyclable in all local collection systems.
For an overseas bulk order, include quantity per size and design, sample requirements, delivery country and postal code, and the required arrival date. Production and freight are separate timings and should both be covered by the quotation.
