Match the pouch structure to the packaged product
A food packaging bag is primary packaging, unlike a takeaway carrier that holds already packed meals. The choice of layers, seal and opening affects product protection and filling. Do not select a pouch only from its print or assume that one film specification is suitable for every food.
Stand-up and resealable formats
A stand-up pouch uses a base construction designed to support the filled pack. A zip can allow repeated opening, but the initial seal and opening method must also be agreed. Send the target fill weight and a sample of the contents where practical.
Barrier and storage requirements
Review moisture, oxygen or light protection according to the product and storage conditions. Clear windows change the visible presentation and may affect the structure. No shelf-life claim, food-contact certification or suitability for hot filling is implied without specification-specific evidence.
Artwork, filling and sealing
Custom printed packaging bags need artwork fitted to the pouch dimensions, sealing margins and opening. Confirm the filling method, print colours and whether coding or label space is required. Destination-market food-contact and labelling requirements must be reviewed before production.
